Bio & Photos

Wesley Hamilton’s life changed on January 14, 2012. Two bullets, a verbal altercation, and a spinal cord injury he was told would define the rest of his life. It defined nothing. In the years since, Wesley founded Disabled But Not Really, a 501(c)(3) that has influenced the redesign of Kansas City International Airport and MLK Park. He launched Hamilton Consulting Co., Beyond Barriers Travel Co., and INCLŪSIV Wellness. He has delivered 60+ keynotes for organizations including Google, Deloitte, McDonald’s, Penn State, and the Government of Canada. CNN Heroes. Good Morning America. Queer Eye. Forbes, Fortune, Ebony. Two TEDx talks. He chairs the Kansas City Mayor’s Committee for People with Disabilities. None of it is the point. The point is that he survived to tell the story, and uses every room he enters to make the same case: what happens to you is not who you become.
